Calls and Correspondence Records

Double Gnarly Triple Suicide

October 22, 2009 - Shameful Lack of Updates Deux

Alright, let's follow up that shameful lack of updates with another one 13 months later. The Muzzler/MZRCDXVL split 7" already came out. It's out, you have to hear

A Wastelanders cassette also came out, but it's gonna be remastered

A new Wastelanders recording will come out eventually

Crazy Stallion is a band again whoa

Please check the "Releases" section

Infinite Love is real

September 22, 2008 - Shameful Lack of Updates!

Wow I always say the same shit and don't update so here it is:

Keep your eyes peeled for the split 7" of the year. This one will rip, CCR011 The Muzzler/MZRCDXVL. Yes, the best of both worlds! Chicago and Dekalb. Expect a mid/late October release date. Possibly October 25th. Maybe the 16th. Details pending on commemorative Dekalb show the day of release.

Harpoon will have the "Double Gnarly / Triple Suicide" album available in late November.  I'd like to hit on this not because it's a Calls and Correspondence Records release, but because it's gonna be pretty cool I think. It will be available in the "Releases / Distro" section in both CD and LP format.

I have 2 last copies of the Hewhocorrupts "Discographer" 2xLP. I'm not trying to use scare tactics or anything but PLEASE order this if you want it because unless you can find it somewhere else online, or from the band themself, that's probably it. I know for a fact that I am kind of lazy so it would not surprise me at all if the other 9 labels involved in this release had sold the last of their copies long ago.

Crazy Stallion "Nuns Fucking Each Other" cassette repress pending and still planned on.

batcave forever. thanks Jimmy (Mike from MZRCDXVL)

Oh yeah, dig it.

February 7, 2007 - Electric Sheep, Discographer

New item in the "Releases / Distro" section. Whalehorse's 6 song EP "Count the Electric Sheep" is available. One thing that really grabbed me about this band, and I'm sure some people can understand what I'm saying when I say this, is that they really sound like a Chicago band. Chicago punk really has a very distinct and unique sound, and I think this band is a great example of this. I mean, they don't sound like The Wayouts, but at the same time they kind of do because they sound like Chicago.

Also, I am taking preorders for Hewhocorrupts new 2xLP "The Discographer." I should have them hopefully by the weekend. If not then, then very soon afterwards. The cost is $15, so if you are interested get in touch -- callsandcorrespondence@hotmail.com. I'll probably have it up on the site in about a week or so.

January 29, 2007 - Crazy Stallion

Crazy Stallion items are cheap so pick them up if you're interested. Calls and Correspondence's 5th release, Crazy Stallion's "Nuns Fucking Each Other" Tour EP, is only $3! The Crazy Stallion "Nuns Fucking Each Other" demo cassette is only $2! All you have to pay is the shipping. Don't even think, just buy.

January 18, 2007 - Bigfoot Destroy!

The new album by 7000 Dying Rats, "Season in Hell," is now available for distro on our site! Pick it up for cheap.

January 13, 2007 - JESUS OMG

Wow, super sick Soloist. Even the binding matches up with the frets on the board. Insane. Nuts to the Kahler trem, though.

The most precious:

The Master of Disaster, Matt Evert. Without even a decision he's a musical magician.

The Variable Why featuring Nick Sherman (Mayor of DeKalb, right) and Ryan Green (Most Controversial Man in DeKalb, left).

John Ugolini glares viciously at an adjacent table at The Lincoln Inn. The staredown lasted more than 30 minutes and was ended when the check came.

January 7, 2007 - One Two, One Two

Link---> "If you were listening to last night's HipHop M1X Show then you will have heard an epic (record breaking?) mix taking in over 800 classic HipHop tracks from 1979-2006 in 40 odd minutes."

Also a picture by Sam Cholke, "Snow Day in Dekalb":

Very nice.

HWC "Discographer" 2xLP is at the plant.

New layout! Very Crazy!

December 28, 2006 - Playground's Greatest Records

I came across this online today. Playground's Greatest Records is done by our friend Evan. He was in All the World Sleeps and now does a new band called Nice and Friendly. I bet if you check it out it will be pretty cool!

December 25, 3006 - Rap Moves on to the Year 3000

Merry Christmas, everyone! Don't let the world get you down.

December 21, 2006 - Gun Kata Discography

Whoa, Gun Kata discography availalbe from our good friend Rendy in Indonesia on Terkuburhidip Records.  Check out Rendy's site because it looks killer. Terkuburhidip Records rules Indonesia!

The cassette contains 9 Gun Kata classics. 5 from their split CD with Tower of Rome and 4 from their demo. Total running time is around 12 minutes.  The CD comes with an insert containing lyrics.

December 10, 2006 - Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Your Greviances

Whoa, talk about a good show. The 5th annual Scratch and Sniff Records Scramber was amazing! Great performances by Black Sabbath, Heart, Paul Simon, Hendrix, The Troggs, etc., etc. Even a special secret Guns 'N' Roses song performance -- the same one Hewhocorrupts covers, "Welcome to the Jungle." Yeah it ruled. I posted some pics below care of Paul Kim aka Jimi Hendrix.

The Muzzler has a demo out. I did not know that. Check it out because if I know the Muzzler like I think I do, I'm sure that thing rips.

Black Sabbath wails through "War Pigs," probably.

Elliot attempts to take over the Scrambler while Guns 'N' Roses perform.

Mr. Andy Herald performing as Robin Hitchcock. What a great picture. Yes, those are pajama pants.

December 4, 2006 - GK Members Reunite!

New band featuring Gun Kata members Toney Vast-Binder (vocals), Dean Costello (guitar).  Keep your ears open because you'll be able to hear it from miles away. Like, 10 miles away. Dig it for ultimate thrash and destruction.

December 02, 2006 - Whoa

Totally, no update in a long time. Our pals in Hewhocorrupts Inc. were nice enough to give us some of their releases for distro. Stuff from Tower of Rome, Tusk, 7000 Dyings Rats, (Lone) Wolf and Cub, and Holy Roman Empire. Hopefully  I will update that in like 2 days or something and add it to the Releases / Distro section. Keep your eye on that section!

Check out the new Weekend Nachos site design done by the king of rock and roll himself, Adam Tomlinson. It's really nicely done. I never knew he was such an html magician. Without even a decision he's an html magician.

In related news, INVERTED will be performing in Dekalb at The House Cafe's Monday night open mic December 4th, 2006. Don't miss this rare performance!

If you're in Dekalb tonight there is a show at 7th St. you should check out. More info here.

Calls and Correspondence's 8th release, Hewhocorrupts "The Discographer" 2xLP is getting pressed and will be available for mailorder here on the site for $15 pretty soon. Expected January 30th release date. Very crazy.

There is a Crazy Stallion review in the new Short, Fast and Loud. I think it's the fall issue.Yes, it is. Issue #16, fall. Rumor has it they get dissed, which is total bullshit!  There's also one in issue 52/53 of Profane Existence Magazine. Should be out in late November. The Crazy Stallion song "40 Hour per Week Bitch Motherfucker," lovingly written and titled for our close, personal friend John Mendola, will be featured on the compilation CD that comes with the Profane Existence double issue.

That's a shit load of news. Hell yeah. I hope someone enjoys this update!

October 26, 2006 - Two Shows, Dig it

October 15, 2006 - Torture

New distro item added: Weekend Nachos - "Torture" EP Check out this review. I'd say it's pretty dead on. Originally released by Tooth Decay Records and now available in our "Releases / Distro" section.

Keep checking back because there will be many new releases in the next few months. I know I always say this but it's actually going to happen this time probably.

October 2, 2006 - HWC "The Discographer" 2xLP

Calls and Correspondence Records is proud to announce that we will be involved in the Hewhocorrupts "The Discographer" 2xLP. We will be one of a total of 10 labels involved with this release. Other labels include Forge Again, Plastic Airlines, Vendetta, Underground Communique, Vendetta, Fudgesickill Records, Level-Plane, Scenester Credentials, Slave Union Records, and Init Records. This will be cool and will have really rad colored vinyl.

Dig the new layout, too. It's pretty alright. Not the most badass thing ever but more interesting than the previous one.

September 13, 2006 - Calls and Correspondence Distro

Hello, everyone. I'm looking to start a little bit of a distro. As of now I have about 7 or 8 different albums I bring around to shows  to try to sell.  Sometimes I sell stuff and sometimes I don't, but hopefully with a little bit more of a selection and some low prices I will be able to move a few more albums. I am not doing this to make money; I am doing this because it is fun to be involved with friends' bands and friends' labels. It is also something I think is important to an indepent music community and something that has the potential to benefit everyone involved.

As stated earlier, I am not doing this to try to make a few extra bucks on the side so markups from wholesale prices will be EXTREMELY minimal. I want to keep prices low to encourage people to take a chance and buy something they might not be that familiar with. I'm also doing this because I want to try to expose people who might have not otherwise been exposed to bands and labels I like that contain friends or are run by friends.

I don't have the money to buy the albums outright, but if anyone reading this would like to give me some of their albums or some of their releases, I can keep track of the numbers and reimburse people accordingly to what sells. I think this would be a great way to gain some exposure in areas or at shows your band or label might not otherwise be exposed to.

July 19, 2006 - Upcoming CCR Releases

Honestly, totally jumping the gun here and these are all things we really, really want to do but many are unconfirmed.
Hopefully they will ALL work out and we will be very happy.  These will all be cassette tape releases.

-CCR006  Mansuper "6"
-CCR007  Lazer Mountain Live
-CCR008  Nick Sherman/Elizabeth Eden Hill split
-CCR009  IIiiIIiiiIiiIiis
-CCR010  Corbett
-CCR011  Bachelor Party Weekend demo
-CCR012  Gigantic Brain

Cross your fingers.

July 14, 2006 - CCR006

Well, we figured it out -- CCR release #6 is going to be a cassette release of Mansuper's album, "6."  Mansuper is a local to Indianapolis and has an amazing talent for writing simple folk songs that are at the same time complex and reflective. His love of women is very apparent (every song is about a girl) but not to the point of being overbearing or one-dimensional. Mansuper is a diamond in the rough, a true hidden treasure of Indianapolis.

Check out Mansuper at www.mansuper.com. All of Mansuper's 6 releases, including "6," are available for download on the site.

May 20, 2006 - Negotiations were Concluded with Instant Death (The Government is Obliterated)

CCR label is hopefully going to be putting out a handful of cassettes this summer. One of them will be by the Florida sci-fi grind band Gigantic Brain. Check out that link and the 3 songs on there. This tape is going to be very, very rad.

If Bachelor Party Weekend ever records, that tape will be rad, too.

May 10, 2006 - Karl Rove, You Stupid Motherfucker

Bachelor Party Weekend, you've heard the name on the streets. Often described as the most explosive band in the midwest. CCR label is proud to announce we will be releasing the demo debut of this all-star band. You can bet your ass the artwork is gonna be wicked, too.

Also, Crazy Stallion's "Nuns Fucking Each Other" is in repress mode. New art and stuff, same 5 songs. Maybe even a choice Steve Austin sample.

The Blonde Alibi was really excellent at The Mutiny the other night. MVP and the gang were on their game like always. Marshall sang the hits in The Report and it was awesome too. He's obviously got class because he was playing through an Orange head.

March 4, 2005 - Handjobs are not 6th grade; they are for adults.

Since November 2004, 11 HWC/FKS split 7"s have sold on Interpunk. We're pretty stoked about that.
Since December 2003, 0 Organz/O'Deth, My Child split 12"s have sold on Interpunk.  Hmmm, not quite as stoked.

We might do something with Curbstomp.

It's gonna be nice tomorrow, GO SKATE!

February 26, 2005 - Magic Bottles

It is always good to add a little magic to everything.
We learned our passion at the good old fashioned school of loverboy.

February 20, 2005 - "I wish you were here so I could touch your butt."

Puke is on the Way

I'm on my way, you won't hear from me today!
Find your own fucking way!  (To California*)

Jimbo Caution is our man.  Give him a hug and a kiss if you see him.

* Only sang live once, not an actual lyric to the song.

February 9, 2005 - Jon Alvin is in the house

There is a friend we have that always gets into it and takes it to the max no matter what. His name is Jon Alvin. We added a link for Jon Alvin's studio, Big Gold Studios, today.  Interestingly enough, the band Not Enough Gold has just finished recording there.

It seems like everyone wants to be a pirate these days.

February 2, 2005 - Fun is fun

We have a website for our very professional business-oriented record label, Calls and Correspondence Records. It is important that you understand we make lots of money.

Also, just because we are high tech doesn't mean that we like modern death metal with its triggers and processed vocal tracks and whatnot. We just listen to Terrorizer only.
